Help & FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What RaisingWell is, how we work, and how to trust what you read here.

Is RaisingWell medical advice?+
No. RaisingWell is educational and evidence-based, but it is not a diagnosis, treatment plan, or a substitute for your doctor. For any health decision about your pregnancy or child, consult your pediatrician or obstetrician — they know your situation.
How do you choose your sources?+
We start from the strongest evidence available — guidance from bodies like the AAP, NHS, WHO, IAP and ICMR, systematic reviews, and peer-reviewed studies — and we link them so you can check for yourself. When the evidence is mixed or limited, we say so rather than pretending there's a single right answer.
Is the content specific to India?+
Yes, that's the point. We cover joint-family and in-law dynamics, monsoon and heat, locally available products and brands, the IAP vaccination schedule, and cultural practices — the context most global parenting sites skip.
Who writes and reviews the content?+
Articles are researched and written by the RaisingWell editorial team from primary and secondary sources, then reviewed for accuracy before publishing. We revisit guides as the evidence changes.
Are the tools (due date, vaccination schedule) accurate — and private?+
The tools use standard methods: the due date calculator uses Naegele's rule adjusted for your cycle, and the vaccination schedule follows the IAP timeline. They're references, not medical advice. Everything you enter is calculated in your browser and never sent to us or stored.
How often is the content updated?+
We review and refresh guides as guidelines and evidence change. Each article reflects the sources cited at the time it was last updated.
Is RaisingWell free?+
Yes. The guides and tools are free to use. You can also subscribe to our newsletter for one practical, evidence-based email a week.
How can I suggest a topic or get in touch?+
We'd love to hear what you're struggling to find good information on. Reach out through our contact channels and we'll factor suggestions into what we cover next.
